The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, held a telephone conversation this Thursday with his counterpart from the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in which they expressed good wishes for both peoples and governments this year.


Venezuela joins the African organization of oil countries

According to a statement from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, both heads of state took stock of the progress made in multidimensional cooperation. In that sense, they highlighted the 12 percent increase in bilateral trade, as well as the launch of air connectivity between the cities of Caracas and Moscow, in addition to other advances in economic, health and military issues, among others.

The Russian president conveyed his congratulations to his Venezuelan counterpart for the victory in the regional and municipal elections on November 21, 2021, and extended it to the entire Venezuelan people.

In turn, Maduro Moros took advantage of the conversation to reiterate his gratitude to the Russian Government for its support in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

It should be remembered that the Eurasian country ordered the supply of vaccines and medicines that have served to guarantee the health of Venezuelans despite the unilateral restrictive measures of the United States Government, the theft of Venezuelan assets and maneuvers denounced by Caracas to block access to anti-covid vaccines.

Maduro Moros expressed to Putin his solidarity with his country and Venezuela’s rejection of the provocation and manipulation campaigns against Russia.

For his part, the Russian president expressed all support and multidimensional endorsement in the defense of sovereignty and in pursuit of the development of Venezuela, and once again reiterated his invitation to President Nicolás Maduro to visit Russia, in order to deepen cooperation between both countries.
