The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obradorannounced that in September of next year the passenger train that will run from Ixtepec, Oaxaca, to the Suchiate River in the border with Guatemala.

In a brief message from his social networks, López Obrador commented that after meeting this Sunday with commanders from the Ministry of the Navy and the construction companies of the railway, they agreed that the 450-kilometer stretch should be completed in August 2024. , so that its operation can be launched on the bicentennial of the annexation of Chiapas to our country.

In Tonalá, we met with the commanders of the Secretary of the Navy and the construction companies; "We evaluated and it was agreed that we would finish this 450 km stretch with bridges, viaducts and stations at the end of August next year to inaugurate the passenger train on September 14 on the bicentennial of the annexation of Chiapas to Mexico," López Obrador wrote.

Previously, the federal president also reported that this Sunday he flew over the works at the port of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca and the construction of the new railway line from Ixtepec to the Suchiate River, Chiapas.
