Paris 2024: NGOs launch campaign to avoid "social cleansing" in Paris and Saint-Denis | Tweet
About 60 French NGOs This Monday they launched a campaign to prevent the authorities from doing “a social cleansing” in the streets of Paris and Saint-Denis facing the Olympic Games2024, because they fear a drastic eviction of the homeless and a reduction in shelters.
In this open letter, promoted by Doctors of the World, political leaders are required “measures that live up to the Olympic values” so as not to defenestrate groups like the exiles, the homeless and sex workers.
In the letter, which also addressed to Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, chaired by Tony Estanguet and sponsors, the signatories warned of the risk of “reinforcing the exclusion of tens of thousands of people, while at the same time “Paris 2024 boasts of hosting the most inclusive and exemplary Olympic Games in history.”
In an interview with Franceinfo, Paul Alauzyof the collective "The other side of the picture" and member of Doctors of the World, reported that “that social cleansing has already begun” in Paris and in the neighboring department of Seine-Saint-Deniswhich will host the bulk of the tests within nine months.

“I can quote the expulsion of 500 people in an occupation that was in the area of the Olympic Village," he criticized Alauzy, who said that The Olympic Games have become “an accelerator” of immigrant evictions, very common in the city of Paris.
The activist expressed his fear that a health care facility that your NGO has open to all people without a health card, let to be accessible because of the Olympic Games.
