Pantheon San José in Iztacalco becomes an option to visit the deceased

With a relatively young tradition, the San José pantheon in the mayor's office Iztacalcois shown as an option for capital residents who like to appreciate the traditions related to Day of the Dead.

The cemetery located on the street Joan of Arc and axis 1 east Andrés Molina Enriquez in the San Pedro neighborhood, receives hundreds of people who come to visit the graves where the mortal remains of their family and friends lie.

"Here we celebrate our faithful dead, we receive them all night and we decorate their graves; We have the popular festival, which when we started this celebration 19 years ago, we did it with a little temple and now it is a big party with a large stand-type stage where there are concerts, artists and events from the different cultural houses of the mayor's office come," explained Martha Eugenia Albores, a resident of Iztacalco.

Within the traditions that have taken root in this pantheon, is the tour of the 7 neighborhoods carried out by a troupe where its members dress up as skulls or catrinas and conclude in the San José pantheon.

For the event that has been taking place year after year relevancelocal, national and international visitors arrive, so personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security carry out road closures to safeguard the integrity of the attendees.
