Order in Peru to seize assets from ex-president Pedro Castillo | News
The Attorney General of Peru, Daniel Soria, asked the Judiciary to seize the personal and real estate of former president Pedro Castillo, who is currently serving double preventive detention in the Barbadillo prison, located in the province of Lima.

The order was also issued against the former Prime Minister of his Cabinet, Aníbal Torres, and corresponds to the process that is being followed for the alleged crime of rebellion in Castillo's attempt to dissolve Congress and establish an emergency government on the 7th of last december.
The attorney general also specified that the respective consultation of the movable and immovable property of both investigated in the National Superintendency of Public Registries (Sunarp) was made and said list was sent to the Judiciary so that the requested precautionary measures are declared well-founded. .
Accordingly, the State Attorney General's Office (PGE) requested, in the case of the former president, the seizure of three real estate in the department of Cajamarca, as well as a house in Tacabamba, in northern Peru.
With regard to Aníbal Torres, the seizure of eight real estate properties in his name is requested, such as those located in a building on Los Eucaliptos street, in the Lima district of San Isidro and others in Cercado de Lima; as well as a jeep vehicle.
For the alleged crime of rebellion, former ministers Betssy Chávez, Willy Huerta and Roberto Sánchez are also being investigated in the process.
