Opposition presents alternate budget; reallocation of more than 510 billion pesos
In the voice of Senator Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz, the deputies of the Frente Amplio por México (FAM) presented their alternative budget for 2024, consisting of the reallocation of more than 510 billion pesos to health, social programs, education, security and countryside.
The FAM coordinator and future presidential candidate of the PAN, PRI and PRD assured that this proposal is possible through the rectification of the average price of a barrel of oil.
“The government plays with the price of oil: in the Income Law it says that they will sell each barrel at 56.7 dollars, but if you check today's newspapers, it is being sold at 82.44 dollars per barrel. That is more than 25 dollars of difference for each barrel of oil that they do not explain to us where they are going to go and how they are going to be spent; “There are at least 47 million dollars a day that go to who knows where, almost 2 million dollars every hour, without any accountability,” he explained.
The alternative project proposes maintaining the spending level at 9,066,046 million pesos.
Yesterday, during a political event with PRD feminists in Iztapalapa, the accompaniment of five soldiers, three men and two women, to the public activities of Xóchitl began.
Without explicitly mentioning the INE regulations that prohibit him from making proposals towards the 2024 presidential elections, he said: “Once the pre-campaign starts, I will make proposals again.”
