After more impressive performances on the diamond in 2023 that continued to resonate with fans around the world, Shohei Ohtani finished the campaign as the player with the most t-shirt sales in the entire Major Leagues.
After appearing in the top 10 after two previous seasons (2018 and 2021), this is the first season in which Ohtani finishes atop the league-wide rankings and the first time a Japanese player has reached the top step. Ohtani's MVP teammate Mike Trout (10th place) continued his streak of appearing on every player jersey list most popular since he starred in his rookie campaign in 2012.
