James Gunn, the renowned director known for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, has found his Lex Luthor for the next movie Superman: Legacy. According to several sources, British actor Nicholas Hoult has been cast in play the iconic role of Superman's archenemy.

The search for a big-name actor to play Lex Luthor has been underway since Gunn cast David Corenswet as the leading man and Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan for the role of Lois Lane. The studio, Warner Bros., decided carry out a casting process after the SAG-AFTRA strike to finding the right actor to play Luthor.

Nicholas Hoult, known for his versatility and acting talent, is already working with Warner Bros. on Jury No. 2, a film directed by Clint Eastwood. Besides, Hoult starred in the 2015 box office hit"Mad Max: Fury Road," which grossed more than $380 million at the worldwide box office.

Last week, it was announced that Venezuelan actress María Gabriela de Faría landed the role of the villain The Engineer in "Superman: Legacy." This all-star cast promises to deliver an exciting new interpretation of iconic characters from the Superman universe.

Nicholas Hoult joins the distinguished list of actors who have played Lex Luthor on screen, including Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey and Jesse Eisenberg in the Warner Bros. Superman franchise.
