New shipment of humanitarian aid from Russia arrives in Cuba | News
Nearly 20 tons of medical supplies and medicines sent by Russia arrived in Cuba on Monday to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic as part of the close bond that exists of cooperation and solidarity between the two nations.

With this new flight, Moscow has sent five planes to the largest of the Antilles since the end of December 2021. The Russian embassy on the Caribbean island specified that with all the flights that have arrived since December 31 they have provided medicines, suits of multipurpose protection and injection syringes with a total weight of more than 83 tons.
The cargo is valued at about 2 million dollars and the Cuban authorities sent their tokens of gratitude to Russia, upon arrival of the cargo at the José Martí international airport in the Cuban capital.

"Our deep gratitude to the government of Russia for sending Cuba a new donation of medicines and medical supplies to support the fight against Covid-19, which reaffirms the close ties of friendship and solidarity between our peoples and governments," he said. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla on his Twitter account.
Likewise, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment in the country, Ana Teresita González, praised the Russian contribution in the Cuban fight against Covid-19.
"International solidarity and cooperation are the path to a more equitable, just and sustainable world," he added.
As part of the bilateral ties, this Monday the presidents of Cuba and Russia, Miguel Díaz-Canel and Vladimir Putin, respectively, held a telephone conversation where they exchanged on the good state of binational relations.
“I had a cordial and fruitful telephone conversation with President Putin. We exchange excellent state relations and future development links in different spheres. Also about the current international situation,” the Cuban president specified on his Twitter account after the conversation.
The Cuban head of state recognized the humanitarian aid sent by the Eurasian nation in recent months, especially food, medicine and oxygen concentrators, which were essential in the hardest moments of the pandemic in the country.
