New massacre in Colombia after triple murder in Cauca | News

In the area known as La Primavera in the municipality of Villa Rica in the north of the department of Cauca, a massacre was registered, the number 81 registered during 2022 in Colombia.

According to the complaint made by the Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) of Colombia, after an altercation in a public establishment, the young Yesid Possú was murdered.

Subsequently, and in retaliation, two other young men were murdered, who were taken from a farm known as Capernau, also in the La Primavera area, and murdered.



The deceased apparently were taken from the Capernau farm, their bodies appeared with burns on the side of a road in this area, located in the north of the department of Cauca.

The area where the massacre occurred is a place of transit for local structures that come from municipalities in the south of Valle del Cauca, weapons, drugs and members of illegal armed groups circulate through these strategic corridors.

“The groups that operate in the department of Cauca are AGC, possible traffic of dissidents and other local gangs. Meanwhile, the Colombian Army also has a presence, through the Army's Third Division,” confirmed Indepaz.
