The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association in Argentina convened for this Thursday an act to honor the memory of its recently deceased president, Hebe de Bonafini, who physically disappeared last Sunday, at the age of 93, at the Italian Hospital of La Silver.
CFK asked to extend the accusation to defendants for an attack against him
The commemorative activity will become march number 2,328, with a stage in Plaza de Mayo, where the Mothers began their traditional protests 45 years ago to demand justice for their children who disappeared during the civic-military dictatorship. The tribute will take place from 3:30 p.m. (local time).
According to local media, the event will be presided over by members of the association led by Bonafini, such as Josefa de Fiore, Visitación de Loyola, Irene de Chueque, Sara Mrad and Carmen Arias, accompanied by journalist Demetrio Iramain.
The Argentine Minister of Culture, Tristán Bauer, confirmed his presence at the rally. So did various social, union and human rights organizations, as well as political leaders from various spaces.
“The fight is forever, Hebe taught us. With this powerful legacy we will continue to raise the white handkerchief as a flag of victory and hope; sustaining the dream of Mothers”, expressed the director of the Cultural Space Our Children (Ecunhi), Verónica Parodi.
It is worth noting that Bonafini’s remains will rest in the Plaza de Mayo, like those of Azucena Villaflor de Vicenti, the first mother, whose ashes remain buried at the base of the Pyramid of May, the same place where the women in white kerchiefs began their fight for human rights and against state terrorism.
