MLB: Domingo Germán launches the 24th Perfect Game in history

German had nine strikeouts on 99 pitches to provide the 11-0 win in Oakland. Plus, he became the first Yankees pitcher to do the feat since David Conne in 1999 and the first in MLB to complete it from the 2012when Felix Hernandez he did it for the seattle mariners.

For the Bronx Bombers alone david welles (1998), david cone (1999), Sunday German (2023) and Don Larsen (1956) have scored zero in their party line, the latter scoring it even in a match of World Series.

He Perfect game implies that throughout the nine innings of the game the pitcher do not allow hits, runs, man on base, or give away passports. On Wednesday Germán struck out nine and allowed zero, zero and zero in hits, runs and walks.

In interview with YesNetwork after the match, Germán stated:

Very exciting when you think of something unique in baseball. Not many people get the chance to throw a Perfect Game. To achieve something like this in my career is something I will remember forever.

Germán had come to the Oakland Coliseum after two difficult games, where he allowed 15 runs in just over five innings, against the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners. This makes him the first pitcher in history to throw the Perfect Game after allowing 10 or more runs in his previous start.

After the game, Germán shared with the media that his uncle had passed away earlier in the week and that this achievement was going dedicated to his memory.

This game is a tribute to him. He would have been very happy.
