A first caravan of about 1,000 Venezuelan migrants left Ciudad Hidalgo, in Chiapas, southern Mexico, bound for the United States.., in search of work and better living conditions, despite the new immigration restrictions in that country.
This is the first caravan of migrants from this country that entered irregularly this year through the Mexican border with Guatemala, who arrived in Tapachula, located about 38 kilometers from the border line, to rest and then continue their journey.
In front of the caravan, a group of migrants displayed a banner that read "SOS, Libertad y paz" as they continued their walk along the southern border of Mexico.
In this group travels the Venezuelan Miguel Garrido, who told EFE that his purpose is to reach the United States.
However, they were waiting five days in Ciudad Hidalgo with the promise by the immigration authorities in the country that they would attend to them, but they were deceived, as he accused, for which they asked for help from buses to avoid inconvenience to the Mexican population in their pass through the country

âWe come with a group of migrants asking the (Mexican) government to please focus on the program we have here. We, here we go, people with children who sold their houses, their cars, have a business, bring us here from town to town, we want you to please give us an answer in migration, which takes us from town to town so that we can make expensesâ, Indian.
This migrant was dedicated to the construction of works in his country, but decided to leave everything to help his family, due to the economic and political crisis that Venezuela is going through.
In their transit, members of the "Beta" group of this migrant caravan invite people to continue walking and others to get on the buses peacefully. on the side of the Mexican highway until reaching Tapachula, in Chiapas.
Another of his compatriots is Iker Humberto, who denounced that the National Institute of Migration (INM) returned them to the international bridge between Mexico and Guatemalafor which they organized themselves in Ciudad Hidalgo and decided to walk out to seek free passage to the northern border of Mexico.

Likewise, Estefany Madrid, a Venezuelan migrant, indicated that they decided to walk out of their own free will, without anyone forcing them, while she stated that they are going in peace, without protest and without affecting anyone.
This migrant was dedicated to daily tasks at home, but decided to emigrate to support her children that she left behind in her native country.
"We are going in the true American dream, we have to abide by the rules or wait for the appointment, the thing is that they let us go through Mexico," he said.
On the Ciudad Hidalgo-Tapachula highway, this caravan of migrants is guarded by units of the National Guard, the highway division, as well as by police from the southern Mexican state and local police.
