The Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard, said that Mexico supports the government of Lula da Silva in Brazil.

The foreign minister published the government's position on the coup demonstrations carried out by supporters of Jair Bolsonaro.

Protesters have already seized the buildings of the three powers.

Ebrard said that the Lula da Silva government was element by “popular will”.

We reject any attempt against the democratic institutions that this brother nation has established.

The governments of Colombia and Chile separately condemned the attack by supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on the headquarters of the three powers in the capital Brasilia.

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, condemned the events on his Twitter account and called for a "Urgent meeting of the OAS if it wants to continue to live as an institution and apply the democratic charter."

Meanwhile, the Chilean president, Gabriel Boric, said on the same social network that “The Brazilian government has our full support in the face of this cowardly and vile attack on democracy”.

Followers of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro invaded the Planalto Palace, seat of the Executive, and the Supreme Court this Sunday, after having previously invaded the National Congress.
