Mexico registers a new record of infections by Covid-19 | News

The Ministry of Health of Mexico reported on Tuesday that during the last 24 hours 33,626 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, with which it registered a new record of infections since the start of the pandemic.

The agency had reported a total of 30,671 cases of the viral disease in one day last Saturday, a figure that exceeded the previous peak of infections of 28,953 cases on August 18, 2021.

The health authorities indicated that there are currently 184,660 active cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.

To date, the Latin American country registers a total of 4,170,066 accumulated infections of Covid-19, as well as 3,363,803 people recovered and 300,574 deaths.

The Ministry of Health stressed that despite the increase in infections, hospital occupancy of general beds is 23 percent, and that of beds with a fan is 14 percent.

The entities with the highest numbers of active cases are Mexico City, with 45,477 infections; Nuevo León, with 9,159, and San Luis Potosí, with 8,188 cases.

To date 74,236,740 people have their complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19, while 82,482,249 people have at least one dose.
