At the end of the competitions on Tuesday, Mexico was placed at the top of the medal table of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, which take place in San Salvador, capital of El Salvador.

Mexico reached the top after surpassing 100 medals. She accumulates 102 total medals, 37 gold, 37 silver and 28 bronze.

Colombia, Cuba and Venezuela remain in the fight at the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.



The next step on the podium is occupied by Colombia with 67 total medals, 33 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze.

In third place are the Cubans closing the medal table honor podium with 61 awards, 21 gold, 18 silver and 22 bronze.

Venezuela is another nation that threatens to be included in the top three. She owns 10 gold, 17 silver and 24 bronze for a total of 51 medals.

For its part, Puerto Rico remains behind the Venezuelans with a total of 29 medals, including seven gold, eight silver and 14 bronze.

This June 28, the medals corresponding to the disciplines of artistic swimming, horse riding, artistic gymnastics, judo, modern pentathlon, swimming, table tennis and weightlifting will be awarded.

Thirty-seven nations participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games, which from Friday, July 23 to Saturday, July 8, in San Salvador, will compete for medals in 53 disciplines. Some competitions will also take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the sub-venue of the Games.
