Mexico is crowned Central American baseball champion for the first time | News
For the first time in the history of its participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games (JJ.CC.), the Mexican baseball team obtained a gold medal this Saturday after being declared the winner in said contest.

The intense rains that were recorded in the Salvadoran capital prevented the final match against the ninth of Cuba from being played. However, due to the tournament regulations, since Mexico had five victories in six challenges, first place was decreed in its favor.
Mexico had beaten Cuba 4-0 in the debut of these games, in a match played on June 24, and then took first place in the qualifying stage.

This is his first gold in these competitions, in which he has seven silver and two bronze medals. For its part, Cuba achieved a runner-up for the third time. In JJ.CC. the largest of the Antilles has 15 championships and a bronze medal.
In the afternoon, Venezuela defeated the Dominican Republic 8-7 and took third place. Curaçao, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and El Salvador occupied positions five through eight.
Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic achieved direct qualification for the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, which will be held between October 20 and November 5.
