Mexico extradited two people accused in the United States of drug trafficking and human trafficking

As part of the collaboration between the authorities of the United States and Mexico, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) handed over to US agents two men who are wanted for crimes against health and human trafficking.
The first of them was identified as Leonardo Jimenez Rodriguezof Mexican nationality, who is charged with sexual exploitation, interstate prostitution, immigrant smuggling and distribution of profits from a prostitution business.
According to the Federal Court for the Eastern District of New York, the detainee from Tenancingo, Tlaxcala, forced women to prostitute themselves and participate in a network of partners in this illegal business in Mexico and the United States.
âBetween 1997 and 2018, with deceit, he attracted young Mexican women by making them believe that they would have a romantic relationship with him; she smuggled them into the United States and subsequently threatened and physically assaulted them to force them into prostitution. The economic profits that he generated from this activity he sent to partners in Mexico, âsays a statement issued by US federal authorities.
Leonardo Jiménez will be arraigned before United States Magistrate Judge Ramón E. Reyes, Jr., in Brooklyn federal court, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.
The second case refers to a subject identified as Alexander Leonwho is facing proceedings before the Federal Court of the Southern District of New York, where He is accused of having operated a network in 2017 to distribute large amounts of drugs from California to the East Coastas well as moving the illicit profits from that business south of the border.
It should be noted that, during the year 2022, Mexico extradited more than 70 criminals who were wanted by US authorities, most of them accused of drug trafficking crimes.
