Mexico adds another 3 golds in taewkondo at the Pan American Games
Mexico added this Saturday Two Three in it taewkondo with the victories of Brandon Plaza in the 58 kg final and Daniela Paola Naranjo in the women's 49 kg. While Daniela Souza was crowned in the 49 kg category at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
Plaza ended the aspirations of Argentine Lucas Guzmán to revalidate the golden metal he achieved in the Lima 2019 games in a tight fight (2-1) that the Mexican always dominated, more effective than his rival both in kicks and with his fist, achieving several spectacular impacts.
The fight, which was a repetition of the last Pan American final of the category, but with a reverse result, was very difficult for the Argentine, who despite the burst of final pride could not neutralize the advantage granted at startup.

In the second final of the day, the Mexican Daniela Paola Naranjo did not give much chance of victory to the Colombian Andrea Ramírez, who He also struggled until the end and was the victim of some mistakes and with a less exquisite technique than his rival, who knew how to defend and score effectively.
The Mexican took advantage of her experience to revalidate the title achieved in Lima but it was not enough for her other great goal of the season, qualification for the Paris Olympic Gamesfor which there is still one last chance.

Earlier the Mexican William de Jesús Arroyo won the first gold for Mexico in the taekwondo category at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
Arroyo won the gold medal after beating the Nicaraguan Elian Ortega, who obtained the silver medal, and the Puerto Rican Luis Gabriel Colón and the Peruvian Hugo del Castillo completed the podium, with a bronze each.
