A Mexican court issued a life sentence on Friday against Andrés Filomeno Mendoza Celis, nicknamed the femicide of Atizapán, for the murder of Reyna González Amador, a 34-year-old woman whose body was found in the individual’s home.

The judge of the Judicial District of Tenango del Valle, based in the State of Mexico, sentenced the femicide from Atizapán to life in prison and ordered him to pay $66,000 as compensation for the damage.
“This individual was found guilty for this crime committed on May 14, 2021, to the detriment of a 34-year-old woman, who was murdered and dismembered inside a building on Margaritas street, in the Lomas de San Miguel, in Atizapán, which was inhabited by the now sentenced “, detailed the Prosecutor’s Office of the state of Mexico.
Andrés Filomeno Mendoza Celis was arrested last June in the municipality of Atizapán, in the central State of Mexico.
The police and forensic authorities indicated that 4,300 bone remains were found, belonging to 19 people.
The case of the femicide of Atizapán shocked Mexico because he would have confessed that he committed more than 30 crimes in the last two decades.
