Metrobus reopens its routes throughout the DMV


Multiple routes of the Metrobus public transport service in DC and its surroundings returned to their pre-pandemic level of service this Sunday, the 5th.

Metrobus announced in a statement that the schedule has been extended on a total of 70 routes and the service will be adjusted to provide reliability.

The changes added 250 trips in the DC region when they take effect on Sunday, May 29. In DC, X2 service to Lafayette Square will be reactivated again.

Several downtown routes will also be extended to L’Enfant Plaza outside of current Metrorail hours of operation.

Saturday service hours for some routes in Prince George’s County, Maryland will be extended.

In Virginia, the 22A bus service will be rerouted to 395 Express Lanes during peak hours as other routes will be rerouted to avoid the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge.
