Metrobús fire in front of Upiicsa
In Mexico City, a unit of the Metrobus caught fire on the morning of this Thursday, October 5, 2023 in front of the Upiicsa facilities of the National Polytechnic Instituteso the service is affected only at that station.
The fire occurred at the Upiicsa station when the unit involved was heading to its confinement yard for a check because it had a mechanical failure, reported Rosario Castro, director of the Mexico City Metrobús.

It was at approximately 11:41 a.m. that the accident occurred in the unit that ended up stranded between flames and dense smoke at the Upiicsa station. According to the director of the Metrobús, no users were traveling in the affected unit, so she assured that there are no injured people.
“The situation at the Upiicsa station was controlled,” he said.
This afternoon the fire in an empty L2 unit that had a mechanical failure was put out and was on its way to its confinement yard for inspection.

Metrobus that caught fire had mechanical failure
It was at 11:33 a.m. that the operator of the Metrobús unit that caught fire informed the Control Center of said means of transportation about a failure, so it stopped when arriving at the Upiicsa station, located on Té Avenue in the Iztacalco mayor's office, to go down and check what was happening. When the unit arrived at the station, it was already on fire in the rear.
