Mercado Libre commits historic investment
Mercado Libre is making an investment of 1,650 million dollars in Mexico this year and a large part of these resources are focused on the fleet of electric vehicles that are important to promote sustainability.
Now we have the largest electric fleet in the region, we have more than a thousand vehicles in the countries we operate and around 600 more are coming just for Mexico in the coming months, the remainder of 2023 and early 2024," said the senior director. of logistics and regional transportation of Mercado Libre, Omar Ramírez.
During his participation in the Imagen23 BBVA Summit. Sustainability added that this fleet has access to more than 200 charging points.
Ramírez highlighted that the platform's goal is to have a fleet of 10,000 electric vehicles by 2025.
Mercado Libre is also promoting the update of its air network, in which it now has more modern Boeing aircraft models, with greater capacity and whose turbines are more efficient in terms of fuel consumption.
Without forgetting that the largest distribution center they have in Mexico uses 100% renewable energy thanks to an agreement with a plant in Aguascalientes.
