Mbappé stays at PSG and forgets about Real Madrid

The front Kylian Mbappé has decided to extend his stay at Paris Saint Germainreported this Saturday the French sports newspaper L’Equipe.

It had been repeatedly pointed out in press reports that the Frenchman, whose contract expires on June 30, would sign for Real Madrid.

L’Equipe claimed that the new contract has not yet been signedwhich will likely tie them to the French champions until 2025. PSG declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.

The 23-year-old, one of the most talented, who burst onto the scene as a teenager and helped France to win the world cup in 2018was set to leave at the end of the season.

PSG signed Mbappe from AS Monaco in 2017 in a deal reportedly worth around €180m, making him the second most expensive signing in the world after Neymar, who joined PSG from Barcelona for 222 million euros.

Real Madrid’s offer to sign Mbappé last year was rejected by the Parisian clubwho seemed willing to lose him in a transfer this year without getting anything in return.

Reports last year claimed that the Spanish champions had offered PSG up to €200m for the Frenchman.

PSG had no intention of selling their young talisman in their quest for Champions League glory, but the French club fell far short this season when Real Madrid staged a dramatic comeback in the round of 16 second leg and knocked him out of the competition.

PSG had been reinforced last year with the signing of Lionel Messi, from Barcelona, to add power to a star-studded squad. But aside from regaining the Ligue 1 title, the French club failed to win any other trophies.

Mbappé, however, stood out individually with 36 goals and 26 assists for PSG in all competitions this season.
