Luxury car accident on a Sardinian road leaves 2 dead

A fatal collision shook southern Sardinia (Italy) when two sports vehicles, a Lamborghini and a Ferrari collided violently with a van. The tragic outcome includes two victims, a 60-year-old Swiss couple, who were trapped inside the Ferrari and lost their lives in the accident, being found burned.

The fatal incident occurred on state highway "195", near San Giovanni Suergiu, on a stretch of two-way expressway with overtaking zones prohibited. The Swiss couple, who had rented the luxury Ferrari to take part in a local car rally called Sardinia Supercar Experience, planned to enjoy lunch in Masua before heading towards Porto Flavia along with other rally participants. However, fate brought them an unexpected tragedy.

The Carabinieri worked to confirm the identity of the victims through the Ferrari rental contract. Meanwhile, authorities immediately closed the highway to traffic while they investigated the accident and carried out rescue operations.

In the Lamborghini involved in the accident Indian passengers from Bombay were traveling, who, despite the impact, suffered injuries but fortunately without serious consequences. The van was occupied by a couple living in South Tyrol, who currently live in Selva di Val Gardena (northern Italy). Although they survived the accident, they are being treated for shock and minor injuries.

According to initial police investigations, The accident could have occurred during an overtaking attempt. It is believed that the Ferrari was trying to overtake the Lamborghini when the latter lost control and went off the road. In the process, the Lamborghini collided with the van in front of it, causing a devastating fire that consumed both sports vehicles.
