Los bomberos de Grecia desactivan 54 nuevos incendios en las últimas 24 horas
Los bomberos griegos han logrado desactivar otros 51 nuevos incendios silvestres originados en las últimas 24 horas, y según la última actualización del servicio son ya 96 el número total de incendios forestales activos en el país. Si bien es cierto que ya se han logrado contener los grandes focos en el centro de Grecia y en la islas de Rodas, Corfú y Eubea, que desde la semana pasada han arrasado decenas de miles de hectáreas de bosques.
Los 51 nuevos focos originados en las últimas horas han sido en su mayoría sofocados en sus etapas iniciales, según el parte de los bomberos.
Un gran contingente de efectivos terrestres todavía está operando en la isla de Rhodes y en el noreste de Achaia, en el Peloponeso, donde esta mañana se reemprendían los ataques por aire con hidroaviones.
En el noreste de Corfú, un gran contingente también se ocupa de otros frentes activos pero controlados, gracias a la bajada de temperaturas del viernes, asistidos por 4 aviones y 2 helicópteros. Mientras, los investigadores están examinando las causas de los nuevos incendios.
Reunión de altura
Una campaña que promoverá la isla de Rhodes en sus principales mercados de turismo es una de las tres líneas de acción que tomará el gobierno para apoyar el futuro del turismo en las regiones afectadas por el fuego de la isla.
Esta es una de las decisiones tomadas en una reunión presidida por el primer ministro Kyriakos Mitsotakis en la mansión Maximos, a la que también acudieron ministros, representantes del gobierno local y de turismo.
Sin los frentes de incendios activos y el operativo de emergencia en fase final, las decisiones ahora se encaminan en ofrecer apoyo inmediato a través de mecanismos estatales a los residentes y negocios afectados. Hasta el momento se cuentan seis edificios calificados como condenados y 39 con daños menos graves.
Las autoridades regionales y municipales también se dedicarán de inmediato a restaurar las redes de carreteras y la costa.
