How is it played?
Double Play is a complementary game to Powerball that gives players another chance to match your Powerball numbers in a separate draw with a top cash prize of $10 million.
To participate, you must add the Double Play feature to your Powerball ticket by paying an additional $1 per play.
In Double Play you play the same set of numbers that you played in the main Powerball draw. Powerball tickets that include the Double Play feature will be eligible to win prizes in both draws.
How is the prize collected?
Prizes must be claimed in the jurisdiction of the state where the winning ticket was purchased. Players can usually claim a prize of up to $600 at any store that is licensed to sell lottery in the jurisdiction where the ticket was purchased.
Prizes greater than $600 can be claimed at some lottery offices, depending on the amount, and also at lottery headquarters.
Ticket expiration dates generally range from 90 days to one year, depending on the jurisdiction in which it is sold.. The expiration date is often listed on the back of the ticket. If the expiration date is not listed, you should check with your state lottery.
A Powerball jackpot winner can choose to receive their prize as an annuity, given in 30 payments over 29 years, or a single lump sum cash payment. For the annuity, the annual payments increase by 5% each year.
The cash option is the amount of money that is required to be in the jackpot fund on drawing day to fund the annual jackpot prize.

The Double Play draw takes place after each Powerball draw on monday, wednesday and saturday.
