"I made the decision that I'm going to go to Miami. I still haven't closed it one hundred percent. I'm missing some things but we decided to continue the path there. If the Barcelona thing didn't come out, I wanted to leave Europe, get out of the spotlight and think more in my family", asserted Messi.
In an interview, the footballer stressed that his intention was to return to Barcelona; however, there were a series of difficulties that made him change his mind.

“The truth is that I had offers from another European team; but I didn't even evaluate it; because in Europe my idea was only to go to Barcelona. After winning the World Cup and not being able to go to Barça, it was time to go to the United States League to live football in a different way and enjoy more day to day. Obviously, with the same responsibility and desire to want to win and always do things well. But with more peace of mind, ”he assured.
Lionel Messi ended his relationship with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) last week, after two seasons in the French capital, in which, according to Messi, he was not happy.
"There were two years in which I was not happy, I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life, I missed a lot of my children's lives at school," lamented the captain of the world champion team.
Thus, one of the most media and recognized footballers in history is ready to sign with Inter Miami, where he would be a teammate of the Ecuadorians Leonardo Campana (forward) and Dixon Arroyo (midfielder).
It was learned that the American team has even set the date of Messi's possible debut; It would be next July 21 against the Mexican Cruz Azul in a friendly tournament that would be played at the DRV PNK Stadium in Miami.
Founded in 2018 by former English soccer player David Bekham together with his investment group, the Miami International Football Club is a young institution and the signing of the Argentine star is an old wish of the team; now with the purpose of promoting, in addition, the MLS, one year after hosting the Copa América and three from the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-organized by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
