Líderes brasileñas destacan políticas en favor de la Amazonía | Noticias
Como parte del evento Diálogos Amazónicos que tiene lugar en Brasil, ministras y líderes indígenas destacaron este sábado en Belém, capital del estado de Pará, las políticas del Gobierno del presidente Luis Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a favor de la Amazonía, los indígenas y las mujeres.

Durante una rueda de prensa, la ministra de Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático, Marina Silva aseguró que “las próximas tierras indígenas que tendrán operaciones de desintrusión, o retirada de quienes no son originarios por parte del Gobierno federal, serán las de los pueblos Kayapó y Mundurukú, en Pará precisamente.
Silva destacó también el hecho de que se le haya ordenado al Ejército “arrestar y acusar a todos los mineros ilegales”. La titular subrayó, además, cómo en los últimos meses, según datos satelitales, no ha ocurrido “la apertura de nuevas áreas mineras, como sucedía antes”.

Por su parte, la ministra de la Mujer, Cida Gonçalves, afirmó que su cartera está estableciendo alianzas para la creación de políticas dirigidas a la población femenina de las comunidades tradicionales. “Hemos estado trabajando con mujeres guardianas y discutiendo un programa para ayudar a las mujeres indígenas que son víctimas de violencia”, aseveró.
A su vez, la líder indígena brasileña, Joenia Wapichana, enfatizó en la importancia de reconocer “la contribución de las mujeres” en las acciones que mantienen un 59 por ciento del territorio de Brasil con bosques.

En tanto, la ministra de Igualdad Racial, Anielle Franco, defendió la relevancia de los Diálogos Amazónicos. “Hace un año hubiera sido imposible estar aquí”, afirmó.
Desde este viernes y hasta mañana domingo, el evento reunirá unos 10.000 participantes y de sus actividades se derivarán informes que serán entregados a los jefes de Estado y representantes de unos 15 países que participarán en la Cumbre Amazónica, a celebrarse el 8 y 9 de agosto próximos también en Belém.
