Miami, Oct 15 (EFE).- Inter Miami and its star Lionel Messi will embark on a tour of China at the beginning of November, the first international tour of the Major League Soccer (MLS) club, the institution reported this Sunday.

A press release published early today announced what was a rumor in the last week, that the team led by Argentine Gerardo 'el Tata' Martino will play two friendly matches with teams from the Chinese Super League.

The first of them will be against Qingdao Hainiu FC, in Qingdao, on November 5, in a match that will be held at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium, with capacity for 50,000 spectators and which opened its doors in April of this year.

In the second match, the pink team will face Chengdu Rongcheng on November 8 at the Phoenix Hill Sports Park in Chengdu, which can accommodate up to 60,000 people.

"This is a special opportunity to share passion as we reach new audiences and exhibit ourselves in new places, and we are eager to begin this adventure," the commercial director of the pink team, the Spaniard Xavier Asensi, said in the statement.

"We will take this as an opportunity to begin our preparations for 2024, as we look to build on last season and find more success in the future," said the institution's sporting director, Chris Henderson.

Inter Miami's last match was on October 7 at its stadium, in Fort Lauderdale (Florida), where it lost 1-0 against Cincinnati, a defeat that officially left the club out of the fight to reach the ' playoffs' in this MLS season.
