Argentina and Mexico, two of the most important teams in Latin American soccer have faced each other in 35 matches, but only three times in the history of the World Cups.
In the three occasions that have been measured in the World Cup all ended with the same result, victory for Argentina. The ‘albiceleste’ team won against the ‘Tricolor’ in the World Cups Uruguay 1930, Germany 2006 Y South Africa 2010.
The first Mexico vs. Argentina that was played in a World Cup, it was in the Group Stage of Uruguay 1930the South American team prevailed 6-3 at the Centennial Stadium in Montevideowith a hat trick William Stabiletwo goals from Adolfo Zumelzu and a bit of Francisco Varallowhile two annotations of Manuel Rosas and one of Roberto Gayon discounted for Mexico.
Mexico was already eliminated from the contest, while Argentina ended up winning the group and advanced to the final.

In the first extra time, a great goal from maxi rodriguez gave the advantage and the victory to Argentina by 2-1.
Four years later in South Africa 2010, history repeated itself in Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg: Argentina beat Mexico in Round of 16this time for 3-1 with a double of Carlos Tevezat 26 ‘and 52’ with a great goal, while Gonzalo Higuain scored at 33′ and Javier Hernandez discounted for the ‘Tricolor’ at minute 71.
