Mexico City.- A judge imposed as a precautionary measure the suspension of the activities of Sandra Cuevas as mayor in Cuauhtémoc, until Thursday, March 17.

This decision was made at the hearing that Cuevas attended this Monday, in the orality rooms based in the North Prison, where the mayor’s defense requested the duplicity of the constitutional term to define her legal situation, after the investigation against him for alleged illegal deprivation of liberty, injuries, abuse of authority and discrimination.

Due to this situation, the judge imposed as a precautionary measure that his activities as head of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office be suspended, that he not leave the country and that he not approach the victims. It will be Thursday, March 17, when the hearing continues and the judge imposes new precautionary measures and defines whether or not to process Sandra Cuevas for the crimes of theft, abuse of authority and discrimination.

During the time that Sandra Cuevas is suspended as head of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, José Guadalupe Medina Romero, director of the demarcation government, will be in charge of the office.
