Jucopo will set up a dialogue table with the SCJN to analyze the TEPJF ruling on the election of electoral advisers: Luis Espinosa

Mexico.- The Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) will set up a dialogue table with the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation to analyze the ruling of the TEPJF on the call for the election of new electoral advisers, informed the coordinator of the Parliamentary Group of the PRD, Luis Espinosa Chazaro.

In a press conference at the end of the Jucopo meeting, the deputy announced that, given the refusal of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) to establish a dialogue with Jucopo, this government body decided not to attend his invitation, “because we were not asking for an audience.”

“We will not attend, we have already decided it in the Political Coordination Board, and we are going to respond within the framework of setting up a legal table, asking the Court for its opinion, and responding in accordance with the law, what the Court has sent.”

He recalled that the Board intended to open a space for dialogue with the magistrates; however, the response does not correspond to the spirit of the invitation. “It is not a subpoena, and they answer us, with all due respect to the litigants, as if we were going to make a hearsay statement.”

“We sent an open invitation, we were willing to accommodate schedules. That is why I insist, it was an invitation, it was not a summons, and the tone in which the approach was made was a dialogue”.

“We were not asking for an audience, we invited them to have an exchange of ideas; but if that is the position, it is very respectable, it does not bother us, simply, just as they decided not to come to our invitation, we were not asking for a hearing of allegations, hearsay and, therefore, we are not going to go to the Court ”, he detailed.

On the other hand, he announced that the president of the Board of Directors, Santiago Creel Miranda, will be invited to the meeting that the Jucopo will hold tomorrow to address what happened on February 1 in the General Congress session.

“We will invite the president of the Table to discuss what has become a topic, of what happened the first day; even the pro-government bloc suggests that you have to listen to it, before advancing in any other direction”.

Asked about the videos where current officials of the government of the governor of Campeche, Layda Sansores, are observed receiving cash at government facilities in Campeche, during the past administration, Espinosa Cházaro stated: “they should immediately separate from office and address the crimes that are committed when they use public resources in this way.”

“Those same people who tore their clothes saying that ‘they weren’t the same’, well today we see them, precisely, doing the same thing, and worse, because now there isn’t even modesty, there isn’t even shame. Bejarano went to jail for a matter exactly like this. We hope that the law will be applied.”
