Juan Ramos Lopezholder of the Specialized Competition Control Prosecutor's Office and right-hand man of Alejandro Gertz Manero, died this Friday, as confirmed by the Attorney General's Office of the Republic through a statement.

Through your X account, The FGR regretted the death of Juan Ramos López as a result of a surgical intervention.

In January 2023, Ramos López was left in charge of the Prosecutor's Office due to health problems of prosecutor Gertz Manero.

Juan Ramos had a degree in Law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

He had an extensive career in public service. He was technical secretary of the Navy Commission in the LXI Legislature of the Chamber of Deputies, Undersecretary of Public Security and General Coordinator of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Public Securityas well as Legal Director at the Secretariat of Public Security of Mexico City.

He was director of Law and general counsel of the Universidad de las Américas AC, as well as a professor at the institution.
