Joe Biden offers support to Mexico after Hurricane Otis
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, issued a message of support to Mexico after the passage of Hurricane Otis, which devastated Acapulco and various towns in the state of Guerrero.
The president noted that his government is working to guarantee the safety of US citizens stranded in Acapulco and areas surrounding the port.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and devastation caused by Hurricane Otis this week in Mexico. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this terrible storm.”, expressed in a statement issued from Washington.
In that sense, he ordered his government to work closely with the Mexican authorities to offer them his “total support.”
“I have directed my Administration to work closely with our partners in the Government of Mexico to offer them our full support. "We are also working to ensure the safety of American citizens in and around Acapulco."
"The United States stands with Mexico, our neighbor and friend in this difficult time," Biden mentioned.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) reported that it has received donations of around 1 million dollars from multilateral banks due to the situation in Acapulco.
The agency explained the figure is made up of 500 thousand dollars from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), 250 thousand dollars from the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) and 200 thousand dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). all for humanitarian aid.
