Joe Biden Mourns Loss of Life in Turkey, Syria Earthquake, Offers US Help

In a message spread through his social networks, US President Joe Biden mourned the loss of life following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria this Monday morning and offered help from the United States.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and the devastation caused by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. I have directed my team to continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with Turkey and provide all necessary assistance“said Joe Biden.
For his part, the National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan said the United States is "deeply concerned by reports of the destructive earthquake." and "all necessary assistance" will be given.
“President Biden directed the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other federal government partners to Assess US response options to help those most affected. We will continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with the Government of Turkey," Jake Sullivan said in a statement.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake that shook Syria and Turkey was recorded at 1:17 local time and had a magnitude of 7.8 degrees.
