Israeli attack on Syria leaves one soldier dead and five wounded | News

A rocket attack by Israel against positions near Damascus, the Syrian capital, left one soldier dead and five more wounded, a Syrian military source reported on Wednesday.

The Syrian state news agency SANA said that, according to the source, the Israeli missiles were launched “from the southeast direction of Beirut” and “from the direction of the Golan Heights” against positions near the Syrian capital.

The informant specified that the Syrian anti-aircraft defense system was able to intercept some rockets.



The Israeli Army, for its part, stated that its military responded to a missile launch from Damascus towards its territory.

An Israeli military spokesman mentioned that its forces attacked Syrian missile batteries.
