The EU and London imposed new coercive measures against 37 individuals and entities in Iran under the justification that the authorities of the Persian nation repress protests, according to the West, "peaceful".
"The action of the European Union and the British regime is a sign of their mental inability to adequately understand the realities of Iran, as well as their confusion regarding the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the spokesperson said.
Based on this, Kanani specified that Iran "reserves the right to respond to such failed policies and will soon announce the list of new sanctions against human rights violators and promoters of terrorism in the European Union and the United Kingdom."
At the same time, he added that they "know very well that the sanctions will not affect the resolve of the Iranian nation to confront foreign interference and conspiracies."
The West has increased sanctions against Iranian officials and politicians since unrest began following the death of the young woman, Mahsa Amini, after she was detained by police.
In line, Tehran has denounced that the United States Government incites and promotes the protests while maintaining a policy of double standards by maintaining what the Persian authorities have called "economic terrorism."
