Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and his Kenyan counterpart William Samoei Ruto on Wednesday signed five cooperation documents in the fields of veterinary medicine, communication, culture, fisheries and professional technology.

In a joint press conference, the Iranian president highlighted the existing potential to promote ties with Kenya, and expressed the objective of both nations to materialize a 10-fold growth in their economic cooperation.

Raisi stated that Africa is a continent of capabilities and highlighted the willingness to share its experience with Kenya in the fields of petrochemicals, agriculture, science, technology, medicines and medical equipment, as well as in the fishing industry and the fight against narcotics.



"We do not see any obstacles in the development of relations and this can help expand bilateral ties," Seyed Ebrahim Raisi stressed.

Also, referring to bilateral relations, he stated that this visit will make it possible to create a market for Iranian products in Kenya and East Africa.

For his part, the Kenyan head of state stressed that the visit of his Iranian counterpart to Nairobi (capital) is a great opportunity for the nation, as it strengthens the ties of friendship and solidarity, and stressed that they are ready for bilateral cooperation .

"Kenya's arms are open to Iranian investors and businessmen," the president said.

As part of his visit to the African country, the Iranian dignitary visited the Iran House of Innovation and Technology in Kenya, where more than 35 knowledge-based Iranian companies have introduced and exported their products to the African country.

Simultaneously to the president's visit, the products Pelican Multipurpose Agricultural Drone and Derma Mapping Drone, from Iranian companies, were introduced for marketing and export.

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran is carrying out a regional tour of African countries that will also take him to Uganda and Zimbabwe, with the purpose of strengthening relations with allied nations.
