International University Congress 2022 ends in Havana | News
The Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, José Ramón Saborido, announced this Friday the culmination of the 2022 International University Congress in Havana, after meeting for four days since last February 9.

According to the senior official, the summit was enriched by academic debates around the main points that concern higher education, and that influence the improvement of higher education.
On the other hand, University 2022 registered an increase in participants from the European region, from countries such as Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary; In this sense, the Caribbean nation accredited rectors, deans, experts, teachers; as well as international organizations.
Given the challenges imposed by the current epidemiological context of the country, the head of the higher education portfolio, Saborido, indicated that the Greater Antilles created all the infrastructures and virtual platforms to enhance and promote university activities in the midst of the difficulties generated by Covid-19.
“More and more young people are linked to science and innovation plans; At present, work is being done to increase the innovative spirit in students, but that will only have an impact if when this student graduates and joins an entity that promotes innovation”, said the head of the Higher Education portfolio, Ramón Saborido .

During the closing ceremony, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, was present. Likewise, the next university event was called, scheduled for February 5 and 9, 2024.
