“On Sunday three people were kidnapped in Jamundí. Yesterday they found two of them who were murdered in the rural area where the kidnapping took place and today the third body is found in Buenos Aires, Cauca," the Colombian entity stressed.

For its part, the Ombudsman issued the imminent early warning (AT) follow-up report 015 of 2020 for the municipality of Jamundí and for Buenos Aires AT 019/20 and imminent AT 019/22.

These reports warn of the risks associated with the presence and territorial positioning of the "Jaime Martínez" Front, a dissident faction of the extinct Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (FARC-EP) who claim to have territorial and social control.

The Ombudsman stressed that different victimizations are generated such as massacres, forced displacements, use and use of children and adolescents, armed confrontation with the intervention of the civilian population, among others.

Among the groups that operate in the municipality is the Jaime Martínez Front of the Western Bloc, pamphlets from the Segunda Marquetalia and local benches, as well as the Third Division of the Army.
