The Ministry of Health of the Argentine Nation reported that the accumulated cases of dengue in the South American country exceeded 130,000 in epidemiological week 32 (August 7-13) with an average of 281 infections per 100,000 people.

The health agency specified that, since July 31, 130,061 cases of dengue have been registered up to the current epidemiological week 33 (from August 14 to 20), of which 94 percent are autochthonous. The previous epidemiological week had produced a total of 129,972 cases.



The health institution revealed that the epidemiological curve described a gradual decrease in cases since week 17, while the accumulated incidence in the general population is 281 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with values ​​above 300 in the population aged 15 to 65 years.

In relation to deaths, the ministry described that there were no deaths in the week in question, so the rate remained at 65, of which 57 percent belong to female patients and 43 to male patients, with an average 51 years old.



So far, the autochthonous circulation of the disease is confirmed in 18 of the 24 jurisdictions of the nation, while the bulletin of the Ministry of Health included a section for Chikungunya fever, of which some 2,303 cases have been registered in nine of the 24 jurisdictions in which the country is divided.
