In just over 13 hours since the first missile attack that Hamas launched against Israel, the army of this nation has mobilized to repel the attacks of the religious extremist organization that took the border by surprise and managed to enter Israeli military points.

Although the Israeli army is already deployed and carrying out combat actions, the surprise attack in the early morning was not the only strategy that Hamas carried out.

Israeli troops are also reportedly facing "hundreds" of Palestinian militants from the Islamist Hamas movement who infiltrated from the Gaza Strip, the army said Saturday.

Army spokesman Richard Hecht, asked by reporters about how many fighters entered Israel, responded that "Hundreds" had "invaded" the country, adding that "hundreds" were still facing troops inside the country.

Given the panic unleashed in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the country was entering war and assured that the army will safeguard the territory and the lives of citizens, adding that:

"The Israeli army will use all its strength to destroy Hamas."

The most recent death count says there are 430 dead; 230 from Hamas and 200 from Israel. The wounded, soldiers and civilians, number in the thousands.

We recommend: There are more than 430 dead and 2,700 injured after a Hamas attack on Israel.
