During the morning conference of the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard reported that Mexico’s humanitarian aid brigades are already in Chile to extinguish forest fires and in Turkey, with the fundamental objective of rescuing people, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The head of the agency, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, explained that a second working group arrived in the South American country this Wednesday.
“In the case of Chile, it is facing large-scale fires; human lives, homes and thousands of hectares have been lost. For this reason, Mexico’s support has been welcomed. Yesterday the report was given and the work areas have already been assigned, ”he pointed out.
The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), Luis Cresencio Sandoval González, explained that 300 elements were sent to Chile; of these, 120 correspond to Sedena and 180 to the National Forestry Commission. They have the assistance of a Chilean guide to locate priority areas.
To the date, five brigades that serve the towns of Yumbel, Santa Juana and Florida. Among the achievements are 64 suffocated hectares, 22 kilometers of guardarrayas –whose purpose is to achieve the protection of areas–, 84 isolated houses and 120 kilometers of area reconnaissance.
The Rescue Missionled by Brigadier General, graduate of the General Staff, José Luis Cruz Piñón, it contemplates 93 troops from Sedena; 37 of Semar; 15 from the Mexican Red Cross and five from the Ministry of Foreign AffairsGeneral Sandoval González pointed out.
“The heart of the team are the 16 canine pairs specially trained for what at this moment, the emergency, the urgency, the immediate, is the rescue of people; it is the strategic objective”, he remarked.

- The president announced that he will shortly start bidding for ten industrial parks that make up the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec; four of these, he said, will be used for the generation of clean energy, which will contribute to caring for the environment.
“In the Corredor del Istmo there are ten industrial parks and the call will be launched soon. There is a commitment, if the conditions are met, that four of the ten parks will be used for the generation of electrical energy, wind energy; This is an agreement with the United States government to help address the problem of climate change, ”he stressed.
He stressed that the parks will belong to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and the purpose is for the United States or banks in that country, at very low interest rates, to provide financing.
He confirmed that on March 19, US legislators, the US Presidential Special Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, and the US Ambassador to Mexico, Kenneth Salazar, will visit the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
“They will be with us on March 19 on the Isthmus and in Veracruz. (…) On March 21, we go to Guelatao as always. In the afternoon, after that act, that ceremony (for the birthday of Benito Juárez García), we go back to the Isthmus, where John Kerry is probably there for the wind farms, ”he said.
He maintained that the rehabilitation of railroad tracks from the Mexican border with Guatemala to Ixtepec, as well as the improvement of the ports of Salina Cruz in Oaxaca and Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz, reinforce the capacities of these facilities in the future.

The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, exposed the mobility system that will connect with the new site. Line 3 of the Chapultepec Cablebus will be the modern alternative that will depart from the Constituyentes Metro to the town of Santa Fe. Six stations will facilitate the visitor experience.
