Hidalgo councilor “disappears” and assembly dismisses him for abandonment of office
After 18 days of absence of the municipal president Agustín Hernández Olguín, the council of Atitalaquia, a municipality in the state of Hidalgo, called the mayor's substitute, Jorge Ramírez López, in order to protest the responsibility at the head of the mayor's office.
In a council session, the municipal assembly considered that Hernández Olguín abandoned his position as mayor.
During the session, it was announced that the dismissed councilor entered documentation in which he claimed to suffer from illness; However, Councilor Humberto Hernández Hernández assured that these had inconsistencies.
Given this, with 9 votes of 10 attendees at the session, it was agreed to call the substitute Jorge Ramírez López, who served as municipal general secretary, to assume the position of municipal president.
According to the councilors, the incumbent mayor was absent from his position since September 25, which is why he was separated from his position during the thirty-ninth extraordinary session of the council of the Atitalaquia city council in Hidalgo.
