Heavy rains reported in Peru due to the passage of Cyclone Yaku | News
Cyclone Yaku is causing heavy rains in the regions of Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ăncash and Lima, located in northern and central Peru, the Peruvian National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (Senamhi) reported on Wednesday.

The authorities have warned about the danger of flooding, landslides and other consequences of the heavy rains caused by the unusual phenomenon.
Despite this, Senamhi explained that the rains behave as expected in the announcement issued this Tuesday by the storm.
"This clockwise low pressure system is associated with the warming of the sea surface temperature and the second band of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)," they reported.
Likewise, it was added that in the coming days rainfall may intensify in La Libertad, Lima and Ăncash, and this may influence the increase in the flows of various rivers in the area and the activation of ravines.
At the end of last February, the experts identified the formation of the meteorological event, the first of its kind in this area, and monitoring of it, its route, and other variables is maintained in order to have much more precise forecasts.
