When the police arrived at the room where the attacker was with the hostage, he told the officers that they did not enter the room and that he was supposedly armed.
After 11:00 a.m., the commander of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Stephen Connell, reported that SWAT elements contributed to solving the situation and that no shot had been fired.
