The Mexican teamwhich is trying to get out of one of its deepest results crises, will face this Wednesday in Las Vegas the Jamaica in the semifinals of the Gold Cup 2023.

After being eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar, Mexico had its ups and downs with Argentine coach Diego Cocca, fired for poor results, and now intends to give a shout of authority in Concacaf at the hands of the interim strategist Jamie Lozano.

For the Tricolor it will be a highly difficult match, against a rival that eliminated them in the 2017 Semifinal and against which they only drew on March 26 at the Azteca Stadium, where they played with everything in their favor.

The Caribbean have a fast team, with professional players, several of them active in the Premier League and MLS, and Lozano will have to find a way to stop them.

Jamaica faced defending champions United States in their group and drew, a sign of the good form of the coach's team Heimir Hallgrimsonwhich arrives undefeated, unlike Mexico, defeated by Qatar in the initial stage of the tournament.

Mexico has shown improvement thanks to Lozano, but it is still far from its best performance, which it will be obliged to show against some Caribbean people who learned to play in Concacaf without feeling less than anyone and as a consequence have reached the final in two of the last four tournaments.

Lozano will try to maintain order in the defense to stop an attack with figures like michael antonio and Leon Bailey, who play in the Premier. After concentrating on holding their defense, Mexico will look to attack, which can lead to a well-paced game.

The winner between the Mexicans and Jamaicans will dispute the title against the best between the United States and Panama.
