A few days after the operation carried out by the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the suburb of Carrefour-Feuille, in Port-au-Prince (capital), members of the Grand-Ravine armed gang set fire to a sub-police station in the district of Savane Pistache and killed four people.

This criminal act took place in broad daylight, highlighting the increasing violence of criminals operating with impunity in the area.

Residents and human rights activists considered that the attack, perpetrated in the aforementioned town southwest of Port-au-Prince, sends a clear message, challenging the ability of the National Police to restore order.

The attack on the sub-police station occurred one day after the announcement by the general director of the PNH, Frantz Elbé, that operations would be carried out in all areas occupied by the bandits.

However, the fire at the police facility highlighted the urgent need for swift and concerted action to counter the growing influence of criminal groups.

Through social media and other means, the local population expressed their deep concern about the escalation of violence and the inability of the authorities to guarantee their safety.
