Un hombre que estaba acusado por el asesinato de una profesora de la American University en Bethesda hace 13 años, y que desde entonces estaba en la lista de “Los más buscados del FBI”, fue arrestado meses atrás por agentes federales de EEUU y de la policía mexicana en Guadalajara, México. Desde allí fue traído recientemente al condado de Montgomery, Maryland, para que enfrente a la justicia. El miércoles, en su primera comparecencia ante el tribunal de Rockville, se ordenó la detención sin fianza de Jorge Rueda Landeros, de 53 años, por el asesinato de Sue Ann Marcum. Ella era una profesora de contabilidad, con quien la policía dijo que Rueda tenía una relación, y que fue encontrada muerta en el sótano de su casa en Bethesda en octubre de 2010. Había sido golpeada y asfixiada, según una autopsia. Rueda afirma que es inocente, pero el fiscal estatal del condado, John McCarthy, dijo que los fiscales tienen pruebas de ADN que lo vinculan con la escena del crimen y, aunque la investigación ya tiene más de una década, “tenemos un caso que nos permitirá seguir adelante”.
